Kashgar: China's Gateway to Central Asia

Kashgar sits at the crossroads of China and Central Asia, with direct land border access to Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. The upcoming China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway will further cement its position.

Current Transport Routes

Kashgar 鈫?Almaty (Kazakhstan)

via Irkeshtam Pass or Torugart Pass. Road distance: ~1,000km. Transit time: 2-3 days by truck. TIR carnet accepted.

Kashgar 鈫?Osh (Kyrgyzstan)

via Irkeshtam Pass. Distance: ~280km. The most active overland route. Daily truck crossings.

Kashgar 鈫?Tashkent (Uzbekistan)

via Irkeshtam + Osh corridor. Currently 3-5 days by road. The CKU railway will reduce this to under 24 hours upon completion.

TIR Transport

Kashgar is a TIR-authorized departure point. Goods under TIR carnet can pass through multiple borders with minimal customs inspection, significantly reducing transit time and costs.

Bonded Zone Advantages

The Kashgar Comprehensive Bonded Zone allows: import duty deferral, VAT exemption for re-export goods, and simplified customs declaration for transit trade.
